The director of a Solihull-based transport service provider is rolling up his sleeves to take Public Carriage Vehicle (PCV) training to support staff at all levels.

Akhtar Ali, director of LandFlight, which provides executive chauffeur, bus and coach services, decided to take the PCV Category D training to give him a full understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities his staff undertake, ensuring he can personally provide support to staff members at every level of the company.

Akhtar said: “In any company, it’s exceptionally important to provide as much support to employees as possible and demonstrate appreciation for the good work they do day-in-day-out.

“I really believe that staff are the driving force behind a business and those who feel their efforts and opinions are valued will go the extra mile for their company and customers.

“I wanted to take the PCV qualification so that I understand every aspect of my drivers’ jobs and can identify any areas we can enhance staff’s development and experiences, alongside customer satisfaction.”

The PCV Category D training comprises both a practical and theory test, and once qualified, entitles the license holder to drive coaches, buses and minibuses.
