Vehicle management company Total Motion is celebrating further awards’ success after being named Leicester Mercury Company of the Year 2018.

The rapidly-expanding firm, based at Meridian Business Park, fought off fierce competition to take the coveted title in the Leicester Mercury Business Awards.

It received the accolade in recognition of its phenomenal sales growth, ongoing job creation, commitment to corporate social responsibility and proven track record in innovation.

Managing director Simon Hill said a combination of factors was enabling the business to secure new business and exceed its targets in a highly competitive market place.

He added:

“We’re thrilled to be Leicester Mercury Company of the Year.

“Winning this title is further testament to the hard work and dedication of the Total Motion team and we’re looking forward to building on our many achievements to date.”

Total Motion, founded by Simon in 1999, is now the UK’s largest privately-owned leasing and fleet management company.

It has doubled its workforce to more than 80 in the past two years, and last summer it saw its fleet of managed and funded vehicles pass the 25,000 mark.

No stranger to receiving regional and national accolades, Total Motion was named Leicestershire Business of the Year 2017 as well as taking the Most Outstanding Growth Award 2017 in The East Midlands Chamber Awards.

And, for the past two years, the business has featured among the UK’s 1000 Most Dynamic SMEs published by the London Stock Exchange.

Total Motion was also 157th on the Leicester Mercury’s 2017 list of Top 200 companies with a turnover of £25.4 million in the year ended March 31 2016 – up from £21.2 million the previous year.

Additionally its commitment to quality and reliability helped Total Motion moved ahead three places to 24th in the Fleet News Top 50 in 2017. The firm was also in the top three fleet businesses for lowest average CO2 emissions, with a recording of 135g/km, as well as being the company with the most hybrid vans on order.

The Leicester Mercury Business Awards winners were revealed at a black-tie event at the Maher Centre in Leicester, with the Company of the Year category sponsored by Janine Edwards Wealth Management.
