Classic car fans around the world could be changing the way they buy and sell their next cherished car, thanks to the work of a specialist automotive PR and digital communications agency from Warwickshire.

Leamington Spa-based Red Marlin has been appointed by online classic car auction disruptor, The Market, to manage its global PR account, helping to raise the profile of the new platform and offer buyers and sellers of classics a more convenient and cost-effective alternative to traditional bricks and mortar auction houses which sold a combined value of more than £160 million of classic cars in 2018.

“We’re incredibly excited to be working with the team at The Market,”

comments Danny Rughoobeer, managing director, Red Marlin.
“Their technology and proposition is a real breath of fresh air in an industry which, by its nature, has been incredibly conservative and traditional until now. However, the classic car market has changed significantly in the last 18 months or so and now is the ideal time for a dedicated online portal to flourish and we look forward to helping play a pivotal role in this.”

Launched in 2016, The Market has developed its own state-of-the-art technology for buying and selling classics via its app and online portal. Unlike traditional auction houses, there are no additional fees for winning bidders and sellers receive a market leading 95 per cent of the sale price of their vehicle. To date, The Market has already sold more than 400 cars worth a total of more than £4 million.

Tristan Judge, director at The Market said;

“We’ve been very successful with our low-fees and online auction platform. The buyers are responding to the most comprehensive listings anywhere, and the sellers love our low fees. It is right for us to now link with Red Marlin and use their skills and contacts to promote the story of our success to the classic car world and beyond.”

The Market joins a growing number of companies that are advised and supported by Red Marlin including the likes of Yokohama, the Advanced Propulsion Centre, TrackDays.co.uk and YourParkingSpace.co.uk.
