Birmingham-based automotive and aerospace quality management experts, G&P, is to be recognised as one of Britain’s fastest growing private companies. This weekend and for the first time ever, the company will be named in the 20th anniversary edition of The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table, which ranks Britain’s fastest growing private companies.

With its global headquarters at Birmingham’s iconic Fort Dunlop, the company employs more than 1,300 people around the globe, providing quality management services to high value manufacturers and component suppliers in the automotive and aerospace industries. It helps companies such as Jaguar Land Rover improve their product quality levels and reduce their manufacturing costs by ensuring they produce the right component, first time, every time.

“In today’s digital world it’s incredibly satisfying that a manufacturing related business like ours is outstripping the growth of most other private businesses in the whole of the UK,” comments Arne Willerslev-Legrand, group managing director, G&P. “The Sunday Times Fast Track table is one of the most highly regarded measures of business growth and success in the UK, so we are delighted to be included for the first time ever. This accolade is a fantastic achievement and a well-deserved recognition of the work and value we deliver to our automotive and aerospace partners.”

As a new entrant to the table, G&P is ranked in 71st position with sales of £47.6 million in 2015 and an annual sales growth rate of 59% over the last three years. The company is one of just 11 businesses from the Midlands to be included in the table.

Commenting on the latest table, Sir Richard Branson of title sponsor Virgin said, “For 20 years, the Fast Track 100 has checked the country’s entrepreneurial pulse, and highlighted the best and brightest talents emerging from the UK – this year is no exception.”

G&Ps listing is the latest in a series of awards and accolades bestowed on the company in 2016. Earlier in 2016 it was awarded the UK’s highest business accolade, A Queen’s Award for Enterprise, for its innovative approach in helping manufacturing companies and their suppliers worldwide improve their quality levels. It was also named for the third year in succession by the London Stock Exchange as one of ‘1,000 companies to inspire Britain’.

Established in 1994, G&Ps recent record growth has resulted from a number of strategic initiatives implemented by the business in order to diversify beyond its traditional UK automotive customer base. Indeed, the company now provides front-line services to control and improve production quality at manufacturing facilities in 12 countries around the world including China. The company also has a growing customer base in the aerospace sector which shares many similar complex challenges to those faced by companies in its traditional automotive supply chain.
