CCS makes a positive difference to 7 Norfolk Golf Clubs

Following a presentation in April 2016 by Simon Binks, Managing Director of CCS, seven Norfolk golf clubs asked us to carry out a free Energy Review Process at their clubhouses. All of the clubs were keen to improve energy saving and reduce their energy expenditure (as well as their carbon footprint). They were also interested in discovering more efficient ways to use and conserve energy while still being able to optimise their energy consumption. Finally, they all wanted help to keep their ongoing energy costs as low as possible.

The Energy Review Process

Our free Energy Review Process involves carefully scrutinising and, where necessary, challenging how each of the clubs is currently being billed for their energy. This allows us to uncover any hidden refunds, produce an energy account analysis with budget forecasts, and source the very best tariffs available. All the clubs had to do was provide us with a full copy of their latest energy invoice and give us their approval to conduct our research – a simple click of the button on a permission-based email.

The Results CCS Achieved by September 2016

Due to incorrect billing, five clubs have received worthwhile refunds from the last four years.

Removal of unnecessary charges has saved one club more than £2,300 annually.

Satisfaction of a billing dispute yielded a credit note to one club of over £4,000.

On behalf of one of the clubs, CCS reopened a dispute with an energy supplier for the period 2007 – 2012. We have successfully proved the case and are currently discussing the level of compensation.

When one club approached us for advice & guidance relating to an equipment issue, we gave them access to a supplier who provided a new energy efficient water boiler which also attracted a 50% funding grant.

Every club that has engaged CCS has financially benefitted with no upfront costs.

The Continuing Benefits of our Energy Review Process

The benchmark energy usage intelligence CCS now holds for the seven clubs has been extremely revealing – for example, we have discovered that almost all the clubs use 40% to 60% of their electricity between the hours of 19.30 and 07.30 during weekdays and for entire weekends. Why is consumption so high during these hours? Until CCS ran the analysis, clubs were unaware of this critical statistic. Now CCS can offer them a broad range of services designed to help optimise consumption patterns and cut energy costs.

Following the energy usage analysis, five GCMA members have expressed an interest in EnergiPlan+ (EP+) our revolutionary cloud-based energy management system. With its integrated inventory and facilities management modules, EP+ helps organisations understand where and when they incur energy costs, enabling management to reduce or even remove those factors. The end result? Even more savings.

CCS also collected billing for business rates and water from selected clubs, which are currently being processed and may yield even further positive results. CCS provides this review service absolutely free of charge.

A final key point to consider is that most of the clubs CCS have helped had already engaged energy brokers, yet CCS were still able to obtain refunds and find savings.

A Testimonial from one of the Clubs

“Cost Centre Services was very efficient and professional in the process of reducing our energy bills, the reduction is significant and the company is pleased with our choice to use Cost Centre Services. We now look to move forward using the EnergiPlan+ system to make further savings on our energy bills. I would highly recommend Cost Centre Services to any business.”
