Businesses that use a lot of heat such as manufacturers, hotels and leisure centres are being can generate their own heating with a free biomass boiler. Derbyshire based renewable and energy saving specialists, Noble Green Energy, are providing businesses with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy and reap the benefits of cheaper, greener heating.
Biomass reduces the cost of heating and helps safeguard a business against rising fossil fuel costs in the future. And unlike fossil fuels, wood biomass is a renewable energy source as for each tree harvested, another is planted in its place. It is this release and capture cycle that makes biomass a carbon neutral and environmentally sustainable fuel source.
Unlike the frequent price fluctuations of fossil fuels, the price of timber has remained stable. Using biomass can help a business stabilise their energy costs in the longer term with these savings set to increase as the predicted rise in fossil fuel costs takes hold.
Noble Green Energy provide two plans which enables a business to adopt biomass. The first is for a free, fully installed biomass system. A business can benefit from heating at a lower cost than they are currently paying, fixed over a long-term. This option removes the management of maintenance and servicing and is ideal for those that may not have the capital to fund an upfront purchase but still want to benefit from reduced heating costs.
The second plan is to purchase of a boiler which reduces heating costs and creates an additional income through the government funded Renewable Heating Incentive (RHI). The RHI is a payment made on each unit of heat generated. These payments are made over 20 years and help provide a payback on the investment of between 4-7 years. Depending on heat demand, a 250kW biomass boiler can provide an annual benefit of £38,000 with a return of 34.6% and payback of 2.9 years.
