The team behind Birmingham's much-loved Early Bird Bakery is set to open a new venue, Perch, at Citadel early next year. The new pastry and coffee concept is due to open to the public in January, as part of developer Kinrise's transformation of the Citadel building at 190 Corporation Street, in the city centre.
Kinrise's UK-wide experience regenerating historic buildings into inspiring work and cultural spaces will see Citadel re-open as a 100% green energy building. Offering over 46,000 sqft of hybrid work and social space behind its iconic Victorian façade. Future tenants will benefit from Citadel’s cultural, health and impact programmes designed to foster meaningful connections within the community and across the city.
Joseph Guidotti, Early Bird Bakery comments;
"We’re very excited for the launch of Perch, a fresh venture from the team behind The Early Bird Bakery, Joe, Tim and Tim. The big idea behind Perch is to bring an exciting pastry and coffee concept to the city and place it within a beautifully and thoughtfully designed space, where the quality of food, coffee and design are equal. Freshness, dedication to craft and creativity are a few of our founding principles and as such, we plan to keep evolving our offering. The customer’s experience is at the heart of why we exist; we want them to feel relaxed, comfortable and at home, somewhere they can come and ‘perch’ with delicious food and drink, while taking a moment for themselves. That mouthful of buttery warm croissant, the sip of Peruvian speciality coffee or the artfully designed interior - we want our customers to have the best time while with us and ultimately, we want to be the highlight of their day".
Ed Vickers, Kinrise, adds;
"Community lies at the heart of our plan for Citadel. That’s why we are proud to host and collaborate with some of the city’s leading independent businesses, charities and entrepreneurs. We're excited to welcome Perch to Citadel in the coming months and look forward to seeing our tenants and the local neighbourhood enjoy the team's delicious menu, as we fill this iconic building with life and soul once more."
