Experienced technical director Martin Payne has joined five star housebuilder David Wilson Homes in Bristol.

Martin has been brought in by the housebuilder as part of its expansion plans in the south west and says he’s already enjoying the ambitions of the division and commitment to quality.

He joins David Wilson Homes from Exeter-based housebuilders having been involved in the housebuilding industry for 25 years and has built up extensive experience in all aspects of the role working for large housebuilders and smaller independent companies.

Martin, who lives in Bridgwater with his wife and family, said he is really enjoying the variety at David Wilson Homes.

“I work with all departments which means I can be involved in a project from the beginning until the last homes have sold so it’s a tremendously satisfying role,’’ said Martin. “This means everything from working with the land department to secure land for the future through to design of the homes and the logistics once we are on a site.”

David Wilson Homes managing director Carl Haley said he was delighted to welcome Martin to the team in Bristol. “Martin has tremendous experience in the technical side of housebuilding and is already making a great contribution towards the business and helping frame our plans for the future,’’ he said.

David Wilson Homes has established a good reputation in the area for providing high quality homes and the Bristol-based housebuilder says that mission will continue.

Key projects for Martin in the coming months will be long term plans for new homes in Swindon, Somerset and Wiltshire together with work on existing sites and those due for imminent launch.

Martin joins at a particularly busy time for the five star housebuilder which is launching a number of new developments in the south west this Autumn.

These include 47 new homes at Temple Cloud in Bristol and 121 new homes at Wells in Somerset. He has also been involved in a new phase of homes at the popular Oatley Park development in Barrow Gurney and the recently launched Park Farm development in Thornbury.
