Eddie Hughes MP was welcomed to Persimmon Homes' Norton Hall Meadow community in Norton Canes to hear about the developer's work in delivering high quality homes for local people.

The team gave the MP for Walsall North a tour of the development on 19 April, meeting with the Persimmon team to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the housing sector as well as discussing the developer's new range of sustainable homes.

Norton Hall Meadow offers a range of three, four and five bedroom homes. With [xx]% of homes on the development to be transferred to a housing association partner, this new community offers a variety of homes and tenures. The development is also home to Persimmon's new range of eco friendly properties.

The development is the first in the Persimmon Homes group to feature new house types which comply with the very latest building regulations and are of the highest standard of energy efficiency. Some of the measures included are increased levels of insulation, solar PV panels on each of the homes, as well as app-controlled EV car chargers.

Eddie Hughes MP said:

"As the minister who introduced changes in Building Regulations to require all new-build properties to have a heat pump or solar panels, I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit one of the first sites to implement the changes.

"It is essential that homes are built to have lower carbon emissions and are economical to heat. Persimmon has embraced these changes very effectively."

Daniel Hassall, Managing Director for Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said:

"It was a pleasure to welcome Eddie to Norton Hall Meadows, demonstrating our drive to create quality homes within Staffordshire and beyond.

"As one of the largest developers in the West Midlands, we're committed to creating successful and vibrant communities across the region and beyond – and ensuring that when we do this, sustainability and community impact are at the forefront of our work."
