National auction house John Pye & Sons Ltd has further bolstered its internal legal team with the appointment of Daniel Harley as Legal Counsel.

Daniel's hire into the newly-created role comes as the firm continues to grow, capitalising on a sustained period of growth.

Daniel will be based at the firm's Nottingham head office and will report to Head of Legal, Rosalind Keen. His main responsibilities will involve supporting the legal team with tenders and contract reviews while focusing on property-related matters and disputes.

Daniel will also be involved in larger projects to effect change to policy or procedure within the business and will handle court cases involving the group of companies.

Daniel brings 15 years' post qualification experience to the business. Having qualified as a solicitor in 2008, he trained at a local law firm before gaining further private practice experience specialising in Dispute Resolution.

More recently, Daniel's practice has been predominantly property-related disputes. He also has a wealth of commercial contract and corporate dispute experience and is a member of the Property Litigation Association.

Speaking of his appointment, Daniel said:

"John Pye has an excellent reputation and I have enjoyed watching the business grow from strength to strength over the years.

"With both a personal and professional interest in a number of areas where the business operates, I am confident that my private practice experience will be a good fit and I'm excited about supporting the team to further grow its operations."

Rosalind Keen, Head of Legal at John Pye, said:

"Daniel's appointment marks another significant chapter for John Pye and we are extremely pleased to welcome him to the legal team.

"Daniel's experience within the property sector will be invaluable as we focus on developing these partnerships and leveraging our growing reputation within the market."
