Law firm Bevan Brittan, provider of legal services to Public, Private and Third Sector organisations, has announced results for its financial year 2015-16 that demonstrate strong levels of organic growth.

Revenue increased by 8% on the prior year, from £34.9m to £37.7m, while net profits grew by 9%. Profit per equity partner (PEP) rose from £284k to £305k.

The year was notable for the opening of a new office in Leeds in September 2015, which now holds seven partners.

The firm as a whole – which has offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and London – grew to comprise 52 partners and 295 staff.

Bevan Brittan has a strong public sector footprint, working with all Local Authorities in England, a third of all NHS bodies and 40 Housing Associations – but also works with over 100 private sector companies, who have become an important market sector for the firm.

Commenting on the results, Bevan Brittan’s managing partner Duncan Weir said:

“These are excellent results for Bevan Brittan. I am delighted that these results have been achieved in the same year as we took the investment costs and time to successfully open our new Leeds office and at a time of investing in new technology to better deliver to our clients. All this was achieved without increasing our already low borrowing levels. It is particularly gratifying to see significant growth in our purely private sector work as well as in our public services work.

“These remain challenging times for both our private sector and public sector clients, and the Brexit vote has only added to the challenges we all face. But with these results, we are in a strong position to continue to successfully deliver to our clients and to continue to manage a profitable and sustainable business.”
