This September, South Devon College's Business Advantage will be launching professional training hubs at Plymouth Science Park and Exeter Science Park to deliver a range of courses including accountancy training through The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) awarding body.

AAT qualifications are the ideal first step to becoming a qualified accountant. Recognised by leading employers in the UK and around the world, this is the perfect qualification whether you’re starting out, already working in finance, or looking to gain the skills to change career. Through these qualifications, you’ll learn practical skills to prepare you for the workplace, from basic finance administration skills, preparing final accounts, through to complex management accounting tasks. Each level of the AAT is a standalone qualification as well as a good progression through the accounting qualifications.

The highly skilled Business Advantage team hosts a wealth of knowledge and expertise from both the public and private sector, as well as banking and financial services. The accountancy training available offers a progression route from the AAT Level 2 Certificate through to the AAT Level 4 Diploma.

The team recently won the AAT Champion award 2016. Wining this award is further evidence of how Business Advantage is continuing to successfully build an esteemed reputation year on year; the team were nominated for Apprenticeship Training Provider in 2014 and won the AAT Large Training Provider of the Year 2015. This recognition proves their commitment to responding to the needs of local businesses and customer's needs. The team have successfully created a professional and supportive learning environment, which allows students to develop the skills necessary to excel in a career in accountancy. Stephen Criddle, Principal of South Devon College said, "I’m delighted to see the really high quality delivery of the AAT qualifications supporting the needs of our local businesses and having a real impact on productivity and skills locally." Launching training hubs in both Plymouth and Exeter provides more opportunity for people to gain AAT qualifications with the award-winning Business Advantage team, all within easy reach of Plymouth and Exeter.
