Local footballing legends and regional business leaders helped launch Margetts Wealth Management’s chosen charity for the year this week.

The specialist in financial management and planning has announced Promise Dreams as its official partner and is looking to raise more than £10,000 over the next 12 months to help it make a real difference to children who are sick or terminally ill.

Steve Bull and Don Goodman started the fundraising efforts off in style when they helped raise £2,000 at a special golf day at Little Aston, featuring 11 teams and a host of on the spot prizes including ‘nearest the pin’, ‘longest drive’ and a ‘booby prize’.

This will be followed shortly by a festive celebration, a number of staff activities and a team effort in next year’s Great North Run.

“Promise Dreams is a fantastic cause and, as the name suggests, makes dreams come true for seriously ill children…giving them and their families something to look forward to and memories to treasure is something we can all buy into,” explained Kevin Smith, Managing Director of Margetts Wealth Management.

He continued: “They are also based in Wolverhampton and support a lot of local people. This made a difference to who we chose and, through a number of corporate events, personal fundraising and the support of our clients and partners, we are expecting to generate a minimum of £10,000 over the next twelve months.”

Margetts Wealth Management, which offers investment, estate, retirement, tax and corporate business advice, has recently moved into a 2100 sq ft office in St Paul’s Square in Birmingham as part of an expansion drive that will see it hit in excess of £1million fees by the end of 2016.
