Landowners, farmers, conservationists and others are being urged to help shape a "Toolkit" to help nature.

Dan Norris's West of England Mayoral Combined Authority is launching an "Action for Nature" Toolkit to help groups support wildlife right on their doorsteps, and deliver on the Mayor's pledge to create a nature-rich West of England region.

A crucial part of the process will be to capture local knowledge. Residents are urged to share their experience and observations of nature and wildlife in the West. Please head to the website www.naturerecoverywest.co.uk, and click on the survey.

The Toolkit sets local priorities for nature recovery and maps ‘focus areas' where action to help nature will have the biggest impact including via an interactive map.

Dan Norris, West of England Mayor, said:

"The West of England is an amazing place to get outdoors and explore the great beauty of the natural world - right on our doorstep.

"But there's a climate and nature emergency, which spells trouble for our precious planet, and the plants and animals we share it with.

"It's really important that we hear from locals on whether this free online Toolkit identifies the most important actions and areas for nature recovery from your perspective."

Visit www.naturerecoverywest.co.uk to take the survey, which runs until 10 May.

The Mayoral Combined Authority has ambitious nature recovery targets. This includes increasing the abundance of wildlife by 30% by the end of the decade.
